Start a script
Tap + in the Scripts library to write a new script. Open a script to edit it, or tap its play button to present it. Adjust font size, line spacing, margins, and scrolling in Prompter Settings.
Import an existing document
Use Import File for PDF, Word (.docx), RTF, Markdown, or plain text, or choose Paste from Clipboard. You can also send text and supported files to InTeleprompter from another app’s share sheet. For Google Docs, export a Word (.docx) copy first. Image-only PDFs may not contain readable text.
Make the script follow your voice
Turn on Follow my voice in Prompter Settings and allow microphone and speech recognition access. Read naturally: the tracker follows your words and pauses when you stop. Recognition availability depends on your device and language. If tracking is unavailable, turn it off and use manual scrolling.
Find a finished recording
Finished takes are saved to Photos when permission is allowed. You can also review the latest take in the app. If saving fails, check InTeleprompter’s Photos permission in Settings and make sure your device has free storage.
Choose recording quality
In Prompter Settings, choose 4K or 1080p at 30 or 60 fps. Available quality depends on your device; heat can limit recording quality. Lower quality can help save storage and battery during longer sessions.
Use a remote or teleprompter rig
Use the remote-control button in the Scripts library on a second iPhone or iPad to find the prompter, then approve pairing on the prompter device. Allow Local Network access on both devices. Compatible keyboard-style Bluetooth remotes can also control playback.
Enable Mirror text (beam-splitter rigs) for reflected reading. This hides the camera preview and fills the screen with mirrored text.
Manage permissions and delete data
You can change camera, microphone, speech recognition, Photos, and Local Network permissions in the Settings app. Swipe left on a script in the library to delete it. Delete saved videos separately in Photos. See the Privacy Policy for more about storage and data handling.
